Three people, the pilot and two passengers, were killed in a plane crash on Friday in Ohio, authorities say.
Around 6:45 pm ET in Vienna, Ohio, a Beechcraft BE-60 airplane at the end of runway 14 at Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport made an emergency landing after the pilot reported a loss of engine power, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said.
The Patrol's Warren Dispatch Center received a call at 7:09 p.m. ET, and troopers arrived on the scene shortly thereafter to find that the plane had crashed near one of the runways due to a suspected mechanical failure, according to a press release by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Plane crash under investigation
The NTSB has opened an investigation into the plane crash.
"Two NTSB investigators are en route to the accident site today," Peter Knudson, NTSB media relations, told USA TODAY. "They will document the airplane wreckage, which will then be moved to a secure facility for further evaluation."
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the organization will work alongside the NTSB to investigate the accident. The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation.
Witnesses to the crash or those with relevant information that could help the investigation are encouraged to email the NTSB at witness@ntsb.gov.
